ABOUT THIS EVENT
Piano pupils of Prof Thomas Hecht take the stage in this exciting exploration of what pieces were like before they “transcended”. Welcome to a “Piano Prequel” concert, featuring the prototypes of all twelve of Liszt’s Transcendental Etudes in their original incarnations – indeed the composer’s Opus 1. Liszt enthusiasts will no doubt recognise these familiar warhorses – even in their seminal stages – and gain insight into the evolution of Liszt’s fiendishly difficult piano technique.
