ABOUT VEITS QUINTET
The Veits Quintet is quickly becoming as one of the most exciting and promising woodwind quintets of their generation. the quintet was established in 2012 with graduates of Universities in München,Trossingen, Berlin and London, in addition to working closely with mentors including Prof. Martin Spangenberg, Prof. Akio Koyama and Prof.Michael Hasel.
The name of the quintet ‘Veits’ comes from the old German language, with the meaning of ‘wood’ or ‘forest’, as well as the venue of their first concert – Veits Cathedral. The individual members have worked with orchestras such as Berliner Philharmoniker, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Konzerthaus Berlin, Staatsoper Hannover, Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen.
Veits Quintet was awarded the 2.Prize at the Carl Nielsen International Chamber Music Competition in Copenhagen in 2015 and the 1.Prize at the Braunschweig International Music Competition in 2013. They have performed at many Festivals and Venues around Europe and had successful debut concerts in Korea and Japan.
