YST Conservatory is pleased to announce the second annual YST Young Composers’ Academy from 20 January to 17 March 2018 in Singapore. The aim of the academy is to inspire a new generation of composers in Singapore by supporting talented, young musicians at the Secondary and JC levels with university-level mentoring.
Up to 10 young composers aged 15–21 based in Singapore schools will be selected to participate in the academy. Participants receive the following:
Academy Schedule:
Sessions will take place on select Saturdays in the months of January-March, giving the participants time to reflect on their learning and develop their new compositions. Participants are expected to attend all sessions.

How to Apply:
Submit the following materials via email to ystprojects@nus.edu.sg:
1. Latest CV (complete with a photo and contact details)
2. An accessible online link (eg Dropbox, Google Drive, etc) to your portfolio: 2 – 3 of your most interesting and original compositions. Each work should include a score in PDF and a recording in MP3 format. Recordings may be MIDI renderings from notation software or a DAW, but live performances are preferred.
Application period is 1 October – 15 November 2017. Selected participants will be notified by 1 December 2017.
The course fee for selected participants is S$100.
