The 2nd Singapore Music Research Symposium will be held on September 20th, 2019. The symposium provides the opportunity for researchers in Singapore interested in music cognition, technology, thereapy, communication, learning, information retreival, synthesis, and related fields to present and share ideas.

Maria Razumovskaya puts the focus on legendary Russian pianist-pedagogue Heinrich Neuhaus, the teacher of Emil Gilels and Sviatoslav Richter. The forum explores Neuhaus's distinct vision of a performer's subjectivity, revealing his importance in championing a powerful interdisciplinary practice adopted in Soviet Russia by creative artists determined to escape the banality and limitations imposed by Socialist Realism.
