SHORT COURSES FOR YOUTH

YST Young Pianists Academy

The YST Young Pianists Academy returns in 2026 from 25 – 28 June, promising four days of inspiration, artistry and transformation for young pianists. Hosted by YST’s Piano Department, this immersive academy brings together our faculty line-up: Head of Piano Studies, Professor Albert Tiu and Assoc Prof Ning An, alongside distinguished guest artists Professor Ng Chong Lim and pianist Lim Yan.

Designed for highly motivated young pianists aged 13 to 18, the Academy offers individual lessons, public masterclasses, chamber lessons, performance coaching and a culminating showcase concert. More than a training course, the Academy is a vibrant meeting of emerging talents who are challenged to deepen their musical voice, and experience the energy of the Conservatory’s thriving performance environment.

Aspiring pianists and families are invited to mark their calendars and apply by 30 April 2026.

Please refer to the instructions on How To Apply before submitting your application online.

2. One recommendation letter from the applicant’s current piano teacher

3. A list of repertoire performed and/or learnt by the applicant over the past three years

The 12 students selected to perform in the Academy must offer 3 solo pieces from different periods. They will also need to prepare a movement from a piano trio (TBC) which they will be coached during the Academy.

Applicants accepted into the Academy are required to pay a course fee of S$1,090 (GST included), which covers all Academy expenses and lunch for the four days. A web link with instructions for online payment of fees will be provided in the results email to shortlisted participants. There will be no refund with withdrawal or no-show from the Academy after payment is made.

Accommodation will be at the participant’s own arrangement and expense if not residing in Singapore.
