Our Soundbites series offers Conservatory students the opportunity to programme their own concerts and showcase their unique musical interests and artistic expertise.

The evening begins with Heiner Goebbels' Herakles 2, a powerful work inspired by the eponymous mythological hero. Sofia Gubaidulina's String Trio follows, showcasing her unique spiritual and sonic explorations. Chin Ting Chan's Fuse II will captivate with its intricate interplay of textures and rhythms. György Ligeti's Horn Trio, a masterpiece of the 20th century, will mesmerise with its complex harmonies and structures. The concert concludes with Mikel Urquiza's Ars memoriae, a fascinating work that blends memory and melody. What is it like to live with dementia? LILY explores the connection between music and dementia, initiated by vocal pedagogue and soprano Dr Wong Su Sun (who plays the title role of Lily), in collaboration with composer Assoc Prof Chen Zhangyi. The evening features the world premiere of the full opera Losing Lily, with libretto by playwright Jean Tay, and a screening of the docu-opera A Day A Lily, written and produced by Jack Lin and The Floating Folks. Join us for this special premiere and screening, offering a rich exploration of life with this condition.
