ABOUT THE EVENT
The NUS Symphony Orchestra celebrates Beethoven’s 250th birthday with Miniatures 2020: Celebrating Beethoven, in collaboration with the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music. NUSSO pays tribute to Beethoven as one of the Classical Era’s most iconic composers and a pivotal figure within the realms of music, exploring what inspired him and how he in turn inspired many: composers, musicians and audiences. Join NUSSO as they perform Beethoven’s well-loved Egmont Overture and his teacher Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto, with soloist Nuttakamon Supattranont (YST BMus Year 1, Trumpet). The concert will also feature chamber pieces such as Schubert’s Rondo in A major for Violin and String Quartet, featuring Joey Lau (YST BMus Year 4, Violin). Held as part of NUSSO’s 40th anniversary celebrations, Miniatures 2020: Celebrating Beethoven is a reminder to continue to strive for musical excellence.
