KOO SIAW SING, presenter

ABOUT THIS EVENT
This lecture-performance provides a comprehensive understanding of Chopin’s Mazurkas Op. 56 through the study of its historical perspectives and its stylistic approaches towards the Polish national dances. The presentation will eventually lead into the discovery of the compositional aspects that include configuring the structural analysis and finding harmonic interests that underlie in the Mazurkas. Through a comprehensive study of the Mazurkas, the lecture will lead into the discussion of performance perspectives.
