Join the Voice Majors and members of the Piano Department as they present a journey through traditional American music including Shape-note singing, hymns, spirituals, gospel songs and many of our more contemporary composers including Samuel Barber, Daniel Pinkham, Libby Larsen, Charles Ives and more. You also won’t want to miss the debut of the Voice Department Gospel Singers as well!!

ABOUT SONGS OF THE PEOPLE, FOLK TRADITIONS & STORIES
The YST Voice Department presents a year-long exploration of vocal music rooted in folk traditions, storytelling and cultural identity—from the distinct folk and vocal traditions of America (Semester 1) to the rich musical heritage of Northern and Eastern Europe (Semester 2).
