An Evening of Hindemith
March 23, 2026 • 7:30pm
YST Concert Hall
Marking the 130th anniversary of Paul Hindemith’s birth, this concert shines a light on a composer whose music—often misunderstood or overlooked—reveals wit, craftsmanship, and expressive depth. Known for his prolific output, Hindemith famously wrote sonatas for nearly every instrument, each demanding and rewarding in their own right. Featuring a selection of his instrumental sonatas performed by YST faculty, the programme seeks to dispel enduring myths surrounding his music—both about its supposed atonality and its fearsome technical challenges.
