Application Documents to Submit

Mandatory Documents

The following supporting documents are mandatory for all applicants. Incomplete applications will be rejected.

i. A copy of passport personal particulars page or NRIC (for Singaporeans and Singaporean Permanent Residents)

ii. A most recent colour passport-sized photograph

iii. Official Bachelor of Music Degree transcripts and graduation certificate *
If you have not completed a Bachelor of Music Degree, please submit official academic transcripts or certificates from the highest academic qualification attained.

iv. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
Your CV should include significant contributions and demonstrable professional accomplishments in music-related fields.

v. Personal statement

vi. Two recommendations
Your recommendations should be from referees who are in the most suitable position to comment on your music ability and aptitude. Recommendations by a peer, family member or friend will not be accepted.

Your referees will receive an invitation link (via email) to submit their recommendations online; this notification can be triggered from the NUS Graduate Admission System (GDA3). Instructions can be found here.

Applications without completed referee reports may not be considered.

*Note: Non-English documents must be accompanied by an official English translation.

Additional Documents

i. English Language Certificate

Applicants whose native tongue or language of undergraduate instruction is not English must submit an English Language Certificate that demonstrates either:

  • TOEFL, with the minimum acceptable scores of at least 100 for the internet-based test and a minimum score of 22 for the writing section; OR
  • IELTS, with the minimum acceptable score of 7.0.
