Announcing the 2022 Concerto Competition Winners

After a series of preliminary rounds as well as the recent finals on 18 and 19 March 2022, we are delighted to announce the winners of the 2022 Concerto Competition! (names listed below in alphabetical order with their respective work performed)

  • Cheryl Pandora and Viona Natalie, piano
    • Francis Poulenc, Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra, FP 61
  • Liu Jiaqi, cello
    • Antonín Dvořák, Cello Concerto in B minor, Op. 104
  • Nuttakamon Suprattranont, trumpet
    • Alexander Arutunian, Trumpet Concerto in A-flat major
  • Zou Meng, violin
    • Karol Szymanowski, Violin Concerto No. 1 Op. 35

As we heartily congratulate the winners on their accomplishments, we also thank all who participated in this year’s celebration of musical artistry. We are also grateful to adjudicators Sarah Butler (Head of Brass, Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University), Christian Kunert (Dean, Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg) and Li Weigang (Faculty, Tianjin Juilliard School) for their insights and expertise.

All winners, pictured below, will be given a concerto performance opportunity (to be announced later).
