Course Objectives and Content

This PC provides a succinct overview of the connections between latest technology and traditional recording practices, offering more in-depth training to allow current musicians to keep abreast in latest technological and industry developments in the changing musical landscape. In music production, advances in IT networking has enabled efficiency and productivity at new found levels. This programme explores in deeper detail the connectivity between software, hardware, liveware and network protocols, to enable borderless collaboration between musicians and producers virtually. 

 

This PC will equip learners with the following competencies: 

– Apply practical and theoretical knowledge in different techniques of audio recording and mixing in classical and pop music 

– Understand the use of different technologies and software in production 

– Develop critical listening skills 

– Demonstrate ability to produce their own audio production 

– Apply composition and arrangement skills gained to produce their own pop music 

– Apply practical knowledge and technical expertise of digital audio network technologies to set up and troubleshoot the Dante® network

 

This course will be relevant to musicians and industry professionals wishing to take advantage of new career opportunities in areas such as audio engineers, music producers, studio managers, school music activity directors, or film/game music composer.

The courses for this Professional Certificate will be billed individually. Please refer to the ‘Fees and Funding’ table found in the individual course pages for more information.

After clicking the Register Now button above, follow the steps below:

  • Identify yourself from the dropdown options.
  • Select the ‘Short Course/Modular Course’ option (this is a short course). Click ‘Applying for Myself’.
  • Click ‘Browse Academic Modules/Short Courses’.
  • Select ‘Short Courses’ from the dropdown.
  • Click on the ‘By Faculty’ dropdown (first item under More Filters). Scroll to the bottom and select YST.
  • The list of our Short Courses should appear. Select your module and select ‘Add to Cart’.
  • Once you are done choosing modules (up to five), select ‘Checkout’.

You can then proceed to create an application account to submit your personal details.
