SUMMARY:[INTERNAL] SoundBites: Lachen und Weinen
DESCRIPTION:* Internal events will only be open to YST faculty\, staff and students. \nFANG PO-YU (B.Mus4)\, double bassTAY SHU WEN (B.Mus4)\, piano \nPROGRAMME \n\nSCHUBERTArpeggione Sonata D. 821I. Allegro moderatoII. AdagioIII. Allegretto \nBRAHMSSonata No. 1 in E Minor\, Op. 38I. Allegro non troppoII. Allegretto quasi menuettoIII. Allegretto \n\nABOUT THIS EVENT \nThe Schubert “Arpeggione” Sonata was originally written for the bowed-guitar instrument “Arpeggione”. While the instrument’s fame did not last\, the lyricism and beauty of the piece sustained its lasting imprint\, as various instrumentalists played it throughout the course of time. \nBrahms Sonata in E minor was borne from the middle period of the composer’s life. Here\, he paid homage to tradition through form\, whilst incorporating a singing romantic expression\, creating his own compositional language. \nBoth of these sonatas embody the emotions of Lachen and Weinen (Laughter and Tears). They manifest themselves through the events in the course of both composer’s lives. Join us as we explore these emotions\, which are the very depth of the human existence. \nSubscribe to YST’s mailing list. \nTICKETING INFORMATION• All event information is correct at time of print.

The pastoral and rustic qualities of countryside life are also present in several instances\, melding together with the leaping playfulness of the trout and its friends.\n \nJoin us on a journey of exploring the evocations of nature\, and stay till the end\, because we have something very special for you!”\nThis event will be livestreamed on the Conservatory’s YouTube channel.
