Peabody Institute of THE JohnS Hopkins University

Founded in 1857 as cultural centre for the region celebrating the role of music, art, letters, and discourse, the Peabody Institute has a rich history of providing professional music training of the highest level. It seeks to shape the role of the 21st-century musician as well as to prepare students for that role, with five strategic pillars: excellence, interdisciplinary experiences, innovation, community connectivity, and diversity. As part of the Johns Hopkins University, it is further situated within the larger network of the university’s world-famous centres of research and learning in the sciences, humanities, and medicine.
