haute école de musique de genève

The Haute École de Musique de Genève (Geneva HEM) provides professional training in music education, music performance, composition, music theory, and eurhythmics. It also conducts research, particularly in the fields of historically-informed performance, musical creation and new technologies, psychology and neuroscience approaches to music, and dialogue with non-Western music. These research activities are kept in tune with artistic practice and supplement university research, in a spirit of creativity and innovation that allows students to develop their reflective and creative abilities. It also provides lifelong training for professional musicians and presents productions throughout Switzerland and abroad.

Since 2009, the Geneva HEM has been part of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland (HES-SO), a major French-language university with over 19,000 students.
