Prospective candidates must note that classes in the Conservatory and the University are taught in English. In order to benefit from the coursework and range of opportunities in the programmes offered, the Conservatory expects incoming students to be able to communicate independently in English without translation.
Candidates will be assessed on their English writing and speaking abilities through the interview as part of the audition.
Exemption from English Assessment
Prospective candidates who meet the following minimum requirements for English may be exempted from the assessment:
IELTS 6.5 overall with 6.5 in Reading and Writing components
TOEFL 580 for paper-based / 92-93 for internet-based
'A' Levels At least grade "E" for General Paper
'O' Levels At least grade "C6" for English
IBDP/IBCP General pass
Candidates whose native language is English may also be exempted from the assessment.
