Sited in our state-of-the-art contemporary facility at the cultural heart of the National University of Singapore (NUS), the Conservatory offers a multifaceted cosmopolitan environment for music and music education for the 21st century.

Like our university, one of the world’s most highly ranked, we see being centred in Asia as ideal to influence future global directions. Through our music-making and professional music education programmes, we train and educate performers, composers and recording engineers to take advantage of present and future professional and artistic opportunities worldwide.

Beyond its fully engaged musicians, the Conservatory also offers musical opportunities to NUS students and to the public, locally and globally, through its classes, events, and partnerships. Alongside access for NUS students to modules, in-house the Conservatory annually presents close to 200 performances and public events. In addition, we host over 100 events in our facilities, led by local community partners. Over the past decade, we have unquestionably become one of Singapore’s – and Southeast Asia’s – beacons for classical music.

While the Conservatory building is central to our identity, we aim to impact and resonate on a much larger stage. With the support of our many community partners, we schedule a further 100 events annually across Singapore, in museums, schools, hospitals, schools and community and educational centres.

NUS is a leading global university, widely respected as a dynamic and innovative institution and a pioneer of new approaches in education, research and enterprise. Its transformative education includes a broad-based curriculum underscored by multi-disciplinary courses and cross-faculty enrichment, as well as special programmes which allow students to realise their potential.  Over 36,000 students from 100 countries further enrich the community with their diverse social and cultural perspectives, making campus life vibrant and exciting. NUS' University Town epitomises the NUS vision for a vibrant campus ecosystem that celebrates life and learning.
