MANAGER / ASSISTANT MANAGER (Sector Development)(Traditional Arts)

Responsibilities:  

You will plan and implement key strategies and initiatives that advance the traditional arts scene in Singapore. You will provide in-depth and holistic account management of traditional arts groups, including overseeing their growth, capability development, arts housing needs, as well as facilitation of partnerships with international platforms.


Principal Accountabilities:                

  • Implementing a range of funding tools (eg major grants, general grants, seed grant, scholarship and bursaries, awards etc), processing and assessing grant applications for funding

  • Account-management of arts companies, groups, associations, societies and artists under Sector Development's purview

  • Planning and implementing programmes and new initiatives to advance the traditional arts sector

  • Keeping abreast of current industry developments for traditional arts and working closely with stakeholders to facilitate, design and anchor strategic programmes that would grow the traditional arts scene

  • Developing and promoting our local artists in Singapore and abroad and to advance the traditional arts form

 

Requirements:

  • Good degree

  • Preferably 2 years of working experience in project management, account management and administration.

  • Good general knowledge and understanding of the traditional arts scene

  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills; ability to analyse and contextualise issues, formulate arguments and draw conclusions

  • ability to grasp concepts, understand and internalise processes and guidelines, and apply them appropriately

  • Resourceful and proactive in finding solutions to problems

  • Creative and passionate about the arts

MANAGER / ASSISTANT MANAGER (Sector Development) (Theatre)

Responsibilities:


You will contribute to the development of the Singapore theatre scene. This includes contributing towards the formulation of strategies, planning and implementing programmes, as well as supporting the development of theatre practitioners and organisations. You will build strong relationships with these individuals and organisations and support them in these areas: development of works / programmes; promoting them and their works locally and internationally to grow audiences and markets; and continuous professional development. To support their growth, you will tap on a range of assistance schemes and programmes including grants, arts spaces and other developmental platforms.
 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Provide relevant and timely advice and support to theatre practitioners, theatre groups and companies, as well as process their applications for support through grants, scholarships, awards, etc.

  • Work closely with industry stakeholders to develop strategies to grow the theatre scene, as well as plan and execute programmes that serve to develop theatre practitioners and grow their audiences.

 

Requirements:

  • Passionate about the arts with deep understanding of the theatre scene.

  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.

  • Strong analytical and reasoning ability.

  • Strong administrative and project management skills.

  • As there will be close engagements with Malay/ Indian/ Chinese artists and arts groups, proficiency in Malay, Indian or Mandarin is preferred.

  • Good degree with preferably 3 years of relevant working experience. Candidates with less than 3 years of experience will be considered for the Executive position.
