Wang Wei is currently the bass trombonist of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. He previously held the position of bass trombonist at the China National Centre for the Performing Arts Orchestra. He studied at the Middle School affiliated with the Central Conservatory of Music with Prof. Bingyu Hu in Beijing; Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music under Allen Meek and Shannon Pittaway in Singapore with full scholarship; New England Conservatory of Music under Douglas Yeo and Norman Bolter in Boston with full scholarship. Wei has worked as guest bass trombone with Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops Orchestra, Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, China National Symphony Orchestra, Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, Macau Orchestra and others notable ensembles. The conductors he has worked with include Herbert Blomstedt, Rafael Fruhbeck de Burgos, Charles Dutoit, Christoph Eschenbach, James Levine, Lorin Maazel, Kurt Masur.
