The French flautist Julie Moulin was born in 1986 in Clermont-Ferrand, where she studied with Cyril Coutier, Corinne Sagnol and Hervé Hotier. After taking lessons with Vincent Lucas in Paris for one year, she did her Bachelor and Master degree at the Lyon Conservatoire National Supérieur in Lyon from 2006 to 2010, studying with Philippe Bernold, Julien Beaudiment and Gilles Cottin. 

In September 2010 Julie Moulin joined the RCO Academy; two months later she was appointed second flautist (playing alto flute) of the orchestra.

In addition to her job with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Julie is teaching at the Rotterdam Conservatory (CODARTS). She is also an active chamber musician, members of the Duo Yati (with the clarinetist Bruno Bonansea) and of the K wind quintet, which was awarded prizes in several international competitions.
