DESCRIPTION:In 1724\, François Couperin coined the term “Les Goûts-réunis”\, or “The Tastes Reunited”\, where he argued that the perfect music comes from a unification of both the dramatic Italian style and the elegant French style. 300 years later\, Ensemble-in-Residence Red Dot Baroque celebrates this harmony of influences with a programme of music from Baroque France that marries the best of both worlds. Four fine pianos and YST faculty and alumni pianists take the stage alongside the YST Orchestral Institute\, in a dazzling display of piano artistry and passion.  \nIn this concert\, we express our appreciation to Mr Tan Kah Tee\, a longtime benefactor of YST who has given to the Conservatory in many ways – from instrument donations to generous support for our artistic and educational mission. DESCRIPTION:The Allied Chamber Duo is a concertizing team of “East & West” featuring Chinese-Malaysian pianist Iau Jo Yee and North American bass trombonist Darrin C. Milling. While the combination of piano and bass trombone is new to some\, this formation has roots and original compositions dating back to the Classical period.
