The evolution of cloud storage and the development of information technology have made it possible for audio data transmission to break the limitations of its digital form. From the challenges of audio quality and latency to Audio Codec and Internet Protocol (IP) infrastructures, we have overcome many in the last 10 years, with the emergence of networking standard, AES67.
Networking solutions thus emerged with the much adopted Dante (Digital Audio Network Through Ethernet); which delivers uncompressed, multi-channel, low-latency digital audio over a standard Ethernet network. With many pro-Audio users and manufacturers heavily invested in this technology, we see the birth of transmission of Audio over Internet Protocol (AoIP).
Join the YST Recording Arts programme and SSL engineer through a journey from the historical side of the AoIP technology to unlimited possibilities of the signal transmission into the future.
