Through the musicians’ rich musical imagination and creativity\, these fantastic creatures will be renewed and brought to life! \nOn 11 November 2022\, the live performance of Zoomorphic Muses will be complemented with the musicians’ transcriptions and reimaginations of animal-related musical excerpts from Saint Saen’s ‘The Carnival of Animals’\, JS Bach’s ‘Coffee Cantata’\, and Mahler’s first symphony\, which quotes the ‘Brother John’ (Frère Jacques) theme! \nThe video premiere of ‘Zoomorphic Muses’ will be released on ACM’s Facebook page on 18 November 2022. This project is curated by the lecturers of YST’s Text and Music module\, composer Dr. Chen Zhangyi and poet/philologist Dr. Sara Florian. Previous iterations of the ACM x YST collaboration include Wares and Waves (2020) based on the Tang Shipwreck collection\, and Suite Ensemble (2021) inspired by the Fashion and Textile collection.\nIn collaboration with: \n \nTICKETING INFORMATION \n\nFree admission.\n\n* All event information is correct at the time of print. \nPhoto credit: ACM \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n
