SUMMARY:Verona Quartet Chamber Masterclass
DESCRIPTION:The Verona Quartet conducts a masterclass\, working with YST students to refine their musical performance. The session is open to the public to attend and observe\, offering the opportunity to experience the professional expertise of veteran artists as well as the learning process of young musicians up close. \nAcclaimed as an “outstanding ensemble…cohesive yet full of temperament” (The New York Times)\, the Verona Quartet has firmly established itself amongst the most distinguished ensembles on the chamber music scene. \nA string quartet for the 21st century\, the Quartet champions the rich breadth of the string quartet repertoire from the time-honoured canon through to contemporary classics. The Quartet strives for a dynamic\, imaginative approach to collaboration and programming that champions cross-cultural and interdisciplinary enterprises. \nThe Quartet currently serves on the faculty of the Oberlin College and Conservatory as Quartet-in-Residence. \nThe Verona Quartet’s visit is supported by the Paeonia Foundation.
