SUMMARY:Songs of Comfort: Peter Steiner & Constanze Hochwartner Recital
DESCRIPTION:Duo Steiner-Hochwartner returns to YST to present a programme of songs of comfort for trombone and piano! \nComprising Italian trombonist Peter Steiner and Austrian organist and pianist Constanze Hochwartner\, the pair began collaborating and formed the Duo in 2017. Since their debut\, the Duo have toured the world\, performing diverse and virtuosic programmes in the United States\, Europe\, South America\, Asia and Australia. \nLook forward to soothing melodies for trombone and piano\, featuring timeless pieces from the classical repertoire such as Bach’s Ave Maria and Beethoven’s Für Elise\, as well as more contemporary works by composers such as Dimitri Cervo\, Karl Jenkins and Andrew Skaggs — performed as a Duo and as an ensemble with students from the YST Trombone Choir. \nPeter Steiner also conducts a trombone masterclass with YST students earlier in the week: \nPeter Steiner Trombone Masterclass26 March (Wed)\, 7:30pm | Orchestra Hall | Free \n  \nPROGRAMME \nPETER STEINER\, tromboneCONSTANZE HOCHWARTNER\, pianoandYST TROMBONE CHOIR \nARVO PÄRT (1935)Spiegel im Spiegel \nVINCENZO BELLINI (1801-1835)Casta Diva\, from Norma \nRICK DEJONGE (1963)Heaven’s Gate \nGABRIEL FAURÉ (1845-1924)Après un rêve \nDIMITRI CERVO (1968)Cantiga \nJOHANN SEBASTIAN BACH (1685-1750)Ave Maria \n– 15 minutes intermission – \nGIACOMO PUCCININessun DormaFeaturing the YST Trombone Choir \nANDREW SKAGGS (1972)Lake EffectsFeaturing the YST Trombone Choir \nLUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN (1770-1827)Für Elise \nLUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN (1770-1827)Moonlight Sonata \n  \nTICKETING INFORMATION \nTickets at $26 via yst.eventbrite.com. \nOut of respect for the participants and other spectators\, no children under 6 years of age will be allowed admission. \nBe the first to hear about our upcoming events!
