SUMMARY:Kangho Lee Cello Masterclass
DESCRIPTION:Cellist Kangho Lee conducts a masterclass\, working with YST students to refine their musical performance. The session is open to the public to attend and observe\, offering the opportunity to experience the professional expertise of veteran artists as well as the learning process of young musicians up close. \nPraised for his “technical perfection and lyrical depth” (The Korea Herald)\, Kangho Lee is one of Korea’s most distinguished cellists\, celebrated as a soloist\, chamber musician\, and educator. Since his orchestral debut at 12 years old with the Seoul Philharmonic\, he has become a central figure in Korean classical music\, performing with leading ensembles. His performances including solo appearances with the KBS Symphony\, Korean Symphony Orchestra\, Suwon Philharmonic\, and Changwon Philharmonic have been broadcast nationally live on KBS radio and widely acclaimed. \nInternationally\, Lee has represented Korea on a number of prestigious stages. Under the auspices of the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs\, he has performed in Paris\, Milan\, Rome\, and Geneva\, and has given solo and chamber concerts in New York\, Los Angeles\, Boston\, Tokyo\, Moscow\, and St. Petersburg. He has also appeared at major festivals such as the Kirishima International Music Festival\, Tongyeong International Music Festival and Seoul Spring Festival. \nAs Dean and Professor of Cello at Korea National University of the Arts\, Lee has mentored prizewinning students at top competitions\, including the Tchaikovsky\, Geneva\, Paulo\, Isang Yun\, and Enescu. \nPROGRAMME \nWILLIAM WALTONCello Concerto I.
