SUMMARY:Chamber Singers: Saiko No Anime
DESCRIPTION:Join the YST Chamber Singers for an evening of choral music appreciation\, featuring works from a diverse repertoire of vocal ensemble performance. \nOnce a window to look into Japanese culture\, ‘Anime’ used to be associated with subcultures of the teens and ‘Otaku’/geeks. Now\, it is a global pop culture influencing many in not just cosplaying but also in arts and music. We choristers appreciate all the best music and stories found in the anime – probably many of which hold a special place for the nerds in our hearts. Beyond the fan favorites classics from Studio Ghibli\, let us dive into music from ‘Suzume’\, ‘Attack on Titan’\, and ‘Evangelion’ to name a few. We might even throw in a couple tunes by J-pop dynamic Duo\, YOASOBI for good measure. What’s YOUR favorite anime/ anime music? Come and explore with us this semester!  \n  \nPROGRAMME \nGASTON LIEW (BMus2)\, guest vocalistARI ANJOU\, guest vocalistANIQ RUSYAIDI (BMus2)\, guest vocalistCAVE QUARTETYNUSC BARBERSHOP CHORUSGABRIEL HOE\, pianoYST CHAMBER SINGERS \nJOE HISAISHII.
