See Nature\, rejoicing \nProgramme notes \nABOUT THIS EVENT \nWe hope that you will accept our invitation to this festive Cantata Series program which explores the new and different and celebrates the more familiar. Beginning with Bach’s very unique BWV 18\, which is scored for two recorders and four violas\, we then move to a cantata by the lesser known Baroque composer\, Nicholas Bruhns. Bruhns was a child prodigy and pupil of Buxtehude\, but his tragically short life has left us with few\, albeit excellent\, pieces. Vivaldi’s Concerto for Two Trumpets begins the celebration of the second half of the performance\, which continues with Purcell’s Ode\, Come\, Ye Sons of Art\, Away.
