SUMMARY:Asia-Pacific Improvisers Symposium 2026: Uncharted (Day 2)
DESCRIPTION:The Asia-Pacific Improvisers Symposium returns to YST\, bringing together artists\, educators and researchers from across the region for two days of performances\, conversations\, and musical exchange. \nBuilding on its inaugural edition\, the symposium explores improvisation as both an artistic practice and a powerful medium for learning\, collaboration\, and cultural connection. Through concerts\, showcases\, and discussions\, audiences are invited to discover how improvisation continues to evolve across diverse musical traditions\, contemporary practices\, and new technologies throughout the Asia-Pacific. \nHighlights include key performances by Richard Barrett\, Weird Aftertaste\, Jeonghyeon Joo\, Jiyun Song\, and Jisu Han\, a forum discussion on Improvisation Methods and Practices in Southeast Asia\, as well as a roundtable on Improvisation in Higher Music Education\, offering fresh perspectives on improvisation’s role in performance\, education\, and artistic practice. \n  \nTICKETING INFORMATION \nRegistration varies by event. For paid/registered events\, book via yst.eventbrite.com \nPatrons without valid tickets will not be allowed entry. Out of respect for all patrons\, late admission will only be allowed at suitable intervals. No children under 6 years of age will be allowed admission. Food and drinks are not allowed inside the venue. \nNo refunds\, exchanges\, or cancellations will be accepted for inability to attend\, change of plans\, or failure to show up on the day of the event/session. \nBe the first to hear about our upcoming events!
