SUMMARY:AAS Series: Jens Ulrich Braun - Video Production For Classical Music
DESCRIPTION:PROGRAMME 10.00am – 12.00pm: Seminar \n2.00 – 4.00pm: Seminar \n  \nABOUT THE EVENTVideo is getting progressively more important in classical music. Musicians – soloists\, choirs and orchestras alike – are expressing a growing interest in having their work documented for distribution on social media platforms like Facebook\, YouTube or Vimeo. Many audio recordings are accompanied by video productions of varying lengths and formats\, to be presented at the release of the CD. A growing number of orchestras have their concerts available live either on streaming services or posted live on their YouTube channels or webpages. \nSetting up an audio-only microphone array for an extensive score like Mahler’s Second Symphony is no easy task to begin with – but working on a full-scale video production imposes different difficulties for both audio and video crews. They need to meet the demands of the video producer\, and at the same time guarantee a high degree of sonic quality. This seminar discusses the preparation and workflow for video-recording the Singapore Symphony Orchestra ́s Mahler 2 project at the Esplanade Concert Hall in January 2019. \nDuring the first part of the seminar\, we will look at the audio setup and microphone array/positioning used in combination with the camera placements. The second part covers the recording workflow and postproduction of the project. \nTo learn more about Jens’s work\, visit: \nvimeo.com/jensbrauntake5-music-production.com \n  \nRegister Here \nTICKETING INFORMATION \n• Free admission via Eventbrite.• All event information is correct at time of print.• Out of respect for other concertgoers\, no children under 6 years of age will be allowed admission.
