Each sonata depicts a mystery of the Rosary\, and the collection displays Biber’s extensive use of the scordatura (or “discordant tuning”) technique. Sonata No. 14 is written after the Assumption of Mary\, one of the Glorious mysteries of the Rosary.\nBridge from ancient music to the masters of modernity\, Karst de Jong will improvise freely and interact with generative live electronics system\, effectively creating a path through time and genres.\nElaine Chew will travel her own way from there trough pages written by some of these masters such as Ravel\, Messiaen and Boulez\, inspiring the dreams of the machine\, which will in turn intervene in her game and create an unheard-of-dialogue.\n \nSubscribe to YST’s mailing list.\nTICKETING INFORMATION \nFree admission via registration only. \nOut of respect for other concertgoers\, no children under 6 years of age will be allowed admission. \nPlease refer to ystmusic.nus.edu.sg for the latest event updates.
