The Executive/Senior Executive of Alumni Engagement is an integral member of the YST Student Life Office which oversees and operationalises the full student enrolment cycle from conducting regular outreach activities to market for admissions, to facilitating and conducting auditions for 20 majors locally and overseas in 10 countries annually, providing student services and support for over 200 students including counselling and discipline during term time, as well as leading efforts in annual class giving and continuing with alumni engagement after graduation. The position has a primary role in alumni engagement and secondary role in the daily operational needs of the Student Life Office.

Duties & Responsibilities 

Alumni Engagement

  • Plan and administer regular alumni outreach activities.

  • Engage with YST alumni to offer ways of giving back to the University (e.g. through conducting voluntary workshops, sharing sessions, career guidance for students and donations).

  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date alumni database mailing list.

  • Plan and administer annual Senior Class Dinner, including administering class giving and producing graduation video and photos.

  • Work with YST Communications Team on alumni news.

  • Work with Deputy Director (Student Life) in the following areas:

    • Engaging alumni through various platforms including social media.

    • Promoting alumni activities.

    • Liaising with NUS Office of Alumni Relations on projects and events involving alumni.

    • Communicating with alumni on issues relating to the tuition grant, work opportunities, rental of YST venues and career guidance.

    • Producing statistics tracking alumni employment and residence.


  • Assist in administering strategic outreach activities (eg, Young Composers’ Academy, YST Piano Academy, YST Double Reed Day and Mix with YST workshops).

  • Work with Associate Director (Admissions and Student Support) in the following areas:

    • Administer applications for admission.

    • Assist in coordinating and facilitating auditions locally and regionally.

    • Assist in admissions outreach, including NUS and YST Open Day, as well as education fairs in high schools.

Other Duties

  • Administer the purchase and sale of concert tickets for student development.

  • In charge of student lockers assignment.

  • In charge of loan of AV equipment for student projects.


We are seeking an individual who is self-driven, pro-active, organised and able to work both independently and collaboratively. The incumbent should be meticulous, able to manage multiple priorities effectively and be creative in energising alumni engagement. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required. Musical background and proficiency in a range of software (Microsoft Office Applications, Adobe Creative Applications) preferred.
